“Walking with God” by, John Eldredge
I think I just set a record for myself. I completely finished a book in just two days… and it wasn’t hard at all. It was one of the best books I think I have ever read about living life, real life. You know the every day stuff you do in between Sundays and Wednesdays. I was so caught up in “Walking with God” by Eldredge that I missed my stop on MARTA by 4 stops and had to ride it back to Five Points. The funny thing is I was actually glad that I missed my stop… I had more time to dig in and soak up this awesome book. Life is crazy! I am sitting there on MARTA listening to “LIFE” go on all around me and I am reading about “Walking with God”. I hear a mother with not one but two children… yes two kids in one stroller talking on the cell phone… cussing up a storm… F this and F that…. I started praying, God please be with these babies! Then there is the man in the seat next to me who starts to witness to me. He wants me to purchase a “holy book” from his religion. Then there are the teenagers who my heart breaks for… no, not because they are homeless. Because they are nice looking, athletic, clean cut, kids. Drunk as they can be! They remind me of me. I want to reach out to them… I want to help. One of the young men stumbles over to me and says, ” Man… I really respect you for reading that book on here man.” What do you say to a drunk teenager… who basically reminds you of yourself at that age? Jesus loves you… God bless you? My heart is breaking for all of your lives? Well, one thing was clear! They were watching. Watching closely… Close enough to read the title of my book, ” Walking with God”. I started thinking… maybe, just maybe God was speaking through my life!
